Allan G. Hancock, CLU, ChFC, AEP
In Allan G. Hancock started his career in financial services and in he established his first office. In he formed Hancock Associates, Inc. to provide employee benefits to companies, using numerous companies to provide these specialized products. Eight years later, he established the Allan Hancock Agency, Inc. to bring independence to the corporate operation and expanded the business to a new headquarters to accommodate the substantial growth. In Allan joined The Argyle Group, Inc., an independent marketing organization. In Hancock Capital Management, Inc. was created to provide fee-based asset allocation and wealth management services utilizing unique and modern investment theories. Allan is a Registered Associate with Hancock Capital Management, Inc., The Hancock Group, Inc.‘s locally controlled investment corporation. In Allan added College Prep Services, Inc. to assist students and their families with comprehensive college and career planning. In a Property and Casualty division was included making the business a full service operation. Collectively, these companies are known as The Hancock Group, Inc.
The Hancock Group, Inc. under the direction of Allan G. Hancock conducts seminars for continuing education credits for the Central Pennsylvania Chapter of Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA), and the Pennsylvania State University. Allan is licensed by the Pennsylvania Insurance Department of Continuing Education Program as an instructor. Also, he has conducted workshops, conferences and is guest speaker for many social, civic and business clubs.
Allan served as president of the National Association of Life Underwriters (now NAIFA), past president of Pennsylvania Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (PAIFA), and of the Altoona Area Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (AAAIFA). He served on the Board of Trustees of Life Underwriter Training Council (LUTC). Allan has been a member of the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) Foundation Board of Trustees for four years and currently vice president of the Board and will be president. He has chaired the Global Gift Fund Committ. He also chaired the Global Gift Fund Task Force. He has also been Officer Liaison for five committees. In total Allan has served on eleven committees during this duration. Allan has also chaired the Task Force of the MDRT Foundation Global Gift Fund (a Donor Advised Fund) which reached $3,000,000 in Donor Advised Funds. The Task Force was formed in the Summer of and since then has completed its work. He has been Treasurer of Life and Health Insurance Foundation for Education (LIFE) from to present.
Allan has been a member of the Board of Trustees of The American College from January to present. Serves on the task force representing The American College with the Society of Financial Professionals to develop a future working relationship from mid to present. He served on LUTC/NAIFA Committee to resolve the financial contract between The American College/LUTC and NAIFA from April through. He has been the recipient of The National Quality Award for the past 30 years. Allan has served on the Pennsylvania Insurance Test Development Committee, and testified before the State Banking Committee on the issue of banks and insurance. Included in his numerous memberships, Allan is a life member of the MDRT, qualifying for Court of the Table, American College‘s Golden Key Society, member President‘s Circle, and a member of AAAIFA. Allan has chaired the Search Committee for NAIFA‘s CEO. The Allan Hancock Agency, Inc. has earned the Professional Growth Award. The award is granted by The American College, Bryn Mawr, PA. In the Agency received the Professional Growth Award, Eagle Award.
An abbreviated community board membership include; chairman of the Altoona Redevelopment Authority; Blair County Chamber of Commerce; Chairman of the Red Cross; Home Nursing Agency Board of Directors; Advisory Board of Hollidaysburg Trust Co.; and President of the Central Pennsylvania Community Foundation; and Board Member of Make-A-Wish Foundation of Western Pennsylvania.
